Nose Procedures
Rhinoplasty, popularly known as a nose job, is one of the topmost plastic surgery procedures we perform at our practice. Dr. ABC provides dramatic, life-altering results to his patients with nose reshaping surgery. Whether you are looking to enhance your facial balance by improving the shape or size of your nose, or wish to correct structural nose defects to improve function, Dr. ABC will give you the sculpted, natural looking nose appearance you have always desired.
What Changes are Possible with Rhinoplasty?
Dr. ABC will reshape the cartilage, sculpt the nasal bone, and modify the overall nose size and appearance to create natural proportion between the nose and other facial features. In some cases, he may perform a chin augmentation surgery along with rhinoplasty, depending on your facial anatomy and cosmetic goals. Our patients often request us for one or more of the following improvements through a nose job:
- Make the nasal tip more defined
- Make the nostrils narrower or wider
- Narrow the nose bridge
- Augment the nose size with implants
- Straighten an off-center or crooked nose
- Correct the angle between the upper lip and the nose
- Remove any irregular nose hump or bump
Surgical Techniques to Perform a Rhinoplasty
Our surgeon is well-versed in two basic surgical techniques to perform a nose job: open rhinoplasty and closed rhinoplasty.
Open Rhinoplasty: If you require significant modifications to your nose appearance, Dr. ABC may recommend an open rhinoplasty. This will allow him greater surgical access to the nasal bone and cartilage to make the necessary changes. He will create a small incision placed discreetly across the columella to precisely sculpt the cartilage or bone. It will leave an almost invisible scar on the nose underside.
Closed Rhinoplasty: For relatively subtle changes to your nose, Dr. ABC may perform a closed rhinoplasty. In this case, he will create tiny incisions inside the nostrils, which means no scarring will occur on the outside of your nose. Through these inner incisions, he will access your nasal structures to make the required aesthetic or functional improvements according to a pre-determined custom surgery plan.
Revision Rhinoplasty at Beverly Hills Aesthetic Institute
Are you dissatisfied with the outcome of your primary rhinoplasty, and find your nose to be oversized, under-sized or less shapely than you expected? Dr. ABC has the expertise to perform a revision rhinoplasty to correct the flaws that may have occurred in your previous nose job with another surgeon.
A secondary rhinoplasty is often more complex and may involve advanced surgical techniques, such as bone or cartilage grafting. Dr. ABC receives patients who have experienced excessive bone or tissue removal from their primary surgery, and wish to restore their desired nose appearance.
Even if you are facing complexities because of the partial removal or changes to your septum in your primary procedure, or nasal airway obstructions, Dr. ABC will create a carefully crafted revision surgery plan to eliminate the defects and give you the nose of your dreams.
Recovery and Results
You may go through a downtime of about one week, and some of the swelling in the nose will linger on for a few weeks, which can be covered with makeup. The results will become more visible as the swelling subsides and the final nose shape firms up. The final results will continue to develop for several months, but you can expect to enjoy a stunning nose appearance for a lifetime after a rhinoplasty.
